YCA Regatta Parade Float
While you’re certainly welcome to enter your own float, bike, or group in the regatta parade, the Youbou Community Association invites you to join us. This year, we’re promoting our Oktobeerfest event, so we’ll be decorating our float with a German fall theme. Bring your own lederhosen or borrow something from us. See you at 9:45 at the Youbou Hall lower parking lot.
You Could Win a Cruise, or Firewood!
Picture yourself on a gourmet cruise at sunset, or keeping cozy by a crackling fire on a wintry day. With any luck, you could win either experience. The Youbou Community Association will be selling raffle tickets on regatta day and into the fall, with the prize drawing planned for our Oktobeerfest party.
Prizes are: a truckload of firewood, donated by Max Russell; an appetizer cruise on beautiful Lake Cowichan, donated by Eva and Garry Fearon; and a couple of tickets to our popular New Year’s Eve party, donated by the YCA. Proceeds will go toward helping Youbou prepare for emergencies.
Ticket prices will be $5 for 3 tickets or $2 for single tickets.
Visit YCA at the Regatta
We’d love to meet you. Stop by our tent at the regatta for tickets to our fall dance, raffle tickets, hear how we’re preparing for emergencies, and how you can receive our free communications. We hope you’ll support our efforts to help our community have fun by joining our nonprofit society. Our membership is just $10 per household for a lifetime membership. What a great deal!
Youbou Pub Is Open!
Just in case you haven’t noticed, the Youbou Pub has reopened, after a 10-year hiatus. Stop by for a drink or a meal and make yourself at home. Welcome and best of luck to our new neighbours.
Oktobeerfest Tickets on Sale Soon
For those of you who like to plan ahead, mark your calendars for Saturday, October 19. It’s time for our second annual Oktobeerfest dance and party at the Youbou Hall. The Rivals with Rob Fortin promise the kind of music you like to dance to, all night long. Just like last year, there will be fall-themed food, beer, wine, decorations, and of course, a free shuttle for those who prefer not to drive. YCA board members will start selling tickets soon.
